Personal Hygiene During the Heatwave

With the current heatwave, we kindly remind students of the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene throughout the school day. Warmer weather can make it more challenging to stay fresh, so we encourage all students to take a few simple steps to ensure they remain pleasant‑smelling and comfortable.

Students are encouraged to:

·        Bring or use deodorant daily

·        Shower regularly, especially in hot weather

·        Use wipes if needed during the day

·        Have more than one set of uniform so they can change into clean clothes throughout the week

·        Keep PE kits and other clothing items fresh and washed

These small habits help students feel confident, comfortable, and ready to learn, while also supporting a respectful environment for everyone around them.

Attendance and Punctuality

“The first step to success is showing up on time..”

As we move further into the summer term, we would like to remind parents of the continued importance of strong attendance and punctuality. Starting the day on time helps students settle calmly, feel confident, and be fully ready to learn.

Students should arrive between 8:00am and 8:25am. Any arrival after 8:25am will be recorded as late. If your child is unable to attend, please contact the school before 8:00am so the absence can be authorised.

Uniform Reminder

With the extreme heat, please ensure students come to school in clean uniforms each day so they stay fresh and comfortable. Any extra layers worn for modesty must be lightweight and removable. Hijabs must be worn neatly and securely, as loose styles are not part of our uniform.

Although it is hot, sudden rain showers are still common. A plain, lightweight, waterproof coat may be worn outdoors so students don’t get soaked or unwell.

Footwear must remain plain, black, waterproof school shoes. Trainers, canvas shoes, or absorbent materials are not suitable.

Year 7 to Kew Gardens

Our Year 7 students visited Kew Gardens on Monday 25th June as part of their biology curriculum. During the trip, students explored a range of ecosystems and investigated how plants adapt to different environments over time.

They had the opportunity to observe real‑world examples of biodiversity, climate influence, and ecological relationships, helping to deepen their understanding of topics covered in class. Staff reported that students engaged brilliantly throughout the day and represented the school with maturity and enthusiasm.

Year 9 to the Centre of the Cell

Our Year 9 students have now completed their visits to Centre of the Cell, attending on Friday 12th June and Friday 19th June. The sessions offered students an engaging opportunity to explore interactive science exhibits and learn more about real‑world biomedical research.

Staff reported that students represented the school exceptionally well, showing curiosity, maturity and enthusiasm throughout the experience. These visits form part of our wider commitment to providing enriching learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Madani Funday 2026! – 11th July 2026

Preparations for Madani Funday are well underway, and we are excited for what promises to be a wonderful community event.

Students have been asked about volunteering opportunities on the day, and many have already expressed interest in supporting different areas of the event.

Foodbank Collection Update

MashaAllah, our school community has shown incredible generosity. Alhamdulillah, we have already accumulated a significant amount of food for our whole‑school foodbank collection.

Our dedicated group of Year 9 students have continued to take the lead on this project. Over the past week, they have been visiting classes across the school to deliver informative presentations about what items are suitable to donate. Their enthusiasm and sense of responsibility have been truly inspiring.

To allow even more families to contribute, the deadline for donations has been extended to Monday 22nd June. We kindly ask students to continue bringing in non‑perishable items. Every contribution—big or small—helps support families in our wider community.

Focus of this Week: No Loitering

Last week, our focus was on uniform. Students were reminded of the importance of wearing full school uniform correctly and consistently. They were also sanctioned according to the policy for wearing the incorrect uniform. Please continue supporting your child in ensuring they arrive to school dressed smartly and in line with our policy.

This week, our focus is no loitering around staircases during lesson transitions, break and lunch. Staff will be ensuring that:

·        Staircases remain clear at all times

·        Students move purposefully between lessons

·        Corridors stay safe and accessible for all

·        Transitions are calm and efficient

These expectations help maintain a safe environment and ensure students arrive to lessons promptly and ready to learn.

Year 8 to Charles Dickens Museum

8S enjoyed a fantastic visit to the Charles Dickens Museum, where they took part in a guided tour of Dickens’ home and explored the spaces that inspired many of his most famous works. Students were able to see original manuscripts, personal belongings, and the very desk where Dickens wrote several novels they study in English.

This trip directly supports their English lessons, helping students deepen their understanding of Victorian London, social inequality, and Dickens’ writing style. Experiencing the setting first‑hand brings their class texts to life and strengthens their analytical skills.

Foodbank Collection

A group of Year 9 students have been given the important responsibility of coordinating a whole‑school foodbank collection. They will be gathering donated items from all year groups to support families in our wider community.

We kindly ask students to bring in any suitable, non‑perishable items to contribute. The deadline for donations is Friday 19th June, and all contributions—big or small—will make a real difference.

Thank you for supporting our students as they take on this meaningful project.

Focus of the Week: Adhkaar Practice

This week, our school is placing a strong emphasis on the consistent practice of Morning Adhkaar across all form groups.

Students will begin their day by reading the Adhkaar from their school planners (pages 19–20). Form tutors will ensure that:

·        The Morning Adhkaar takes place immediately after registration

·        All students read directly from the text

·        Classes maintain good etiquette, focus, and participation

·        A calm and consistent morning routine is established

This daily practice helps students start the day with reflection, discipline, and a positive mindset.

This final term is a vital period filled with assessments, exams, and end‑of‑year learning. Regular attendance ensures students do not miss essential teaching. Being present and punctual gives them the best opportunity to make strong progress and finish the academic year successfully.

Uniform Reminder

With the recent spells of sudden rain, many students have been caught without appropriate outerwear. Please ensure students come to school prepared for wet weather so they are not getting soaked, becoming unwell, or missing learning time. A plain, waterproof coat may be worn outdoors.

We also remind families that students must wear suitable school shoes. Footwear should be plain, black, and waterproof. Trainers, canvas shoes, or any shoes that absorb water leave students uncomfortable and increase the risk of illness.

Once inside the building, students must continue to follow our uniform expectations: the correct abaya, approved school shoes, and no shawls or hoodies over the abaya. Only the school cardigan is allowed indoors.

KS4 Enterprise Day 2026!

KS4 took part in their annual Enterprise Day on Friday 1st May 2026, working to the theme of modest outfits. This added an extra layer of challenge, as students had to balance creativity with specific design requirements.

They worked brilliantly in teams — researching ideas, sketching designs, and using materials resourcefully to bring their concepts to life. The final outfits were thoughtful, stylish, and showed real imagination. During presentations, students confidently explained their design choices, costings, and how their creations met the brief.

It was a fantastic day that showcased their teamwork, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Year 8s Trip to Greenwich Park with the Uber Boats!

On Monday 11th May and Tuesday 12th May, our Year 8 students enjoyed an exciting Geography field trip to Greenwich Park, travelling there by Uber Boat along the Thames. The boat journey itself was a highlight, giving students the chance to see London’s riverside landmarks from a new perspective and observe the river in action — an ideal introduction to their rivers topic.

Although they did get caught in a few bursts of rain, spirits remained high and students made the most of the experience. Once in Greenwich, they explored the park and surrounding area, looking closely at features of the river environment, human interaction with the landscape, and how the Thames has shaped the development of the city.

The trip offered valuable real‑world context to their classroom learning, helping students deepen their understanding of river processes and geographical fieldwork skills. Despite the weather, Year 8 showed great enthusiasm, curiosity, and resilience throughout the day.

Year 9 to Gardens of Peace

Year 9 students visited the Gardens of Peace on Monday 5th May and Monday 12th May as part of their Islamic Studies. The cemetery was beautifully maintained — peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully cared for — creating a reflective atmosphere for the students throughout their visit.

During their time there, students were encouraged to take a moment of reflection, considering themes of life, loss, and gratitude. As part of their learning, they walked through the grounds and looked at the ages and causes of death of individuals similar to their own age, prompting meaningful discussions about wellbeing, choices, and the fragility of life.

Students also observed a grave being prepared for a burial later that day, giving them a deeper understanding of the practical and respectful processes involved in Islamic funerary rites.

A significant part of the visit included entering the ghusl area, where staff explained how ghusl is performed. Students were shown the washing table, the steps of the ritual cleansing, and the different types of shrouds used. This hands‑on explanation helped them connect classroom learning with real‑world practice in a sensitive and informative way.

KS3 Enterprise Day 2026!

Our KS3 students took part in an inspiring Enterprise Day on Wednesday 29th April 2026, where they were challenged to design a unique product from scratch. Working in small teams, students moved through the full entrepreneurial journey — from brainstorming ideas to developing prototypes, creating branding, and preparing a short pitch presentation.

The day encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem‑solving. Many groups impressed staff with innovative concepts such as eco‑friendly household solutions, wellbeing‑focused gadgets, and practical tools for everyday school life. Students showed real confidence as they presented their ideas, demonstrating strong communication skills and thoughtful planning.

Welcome to the Summer Term

Welcome to the final term of the academic year. We have many fun and exciting events planned for our students, and we look forward to a positive and productive end to the year, Insha’Allah.

Alongside this, it is also an important assessment period. Year 10 students will be sitting their mock examinations, Year 11 students will be preparing for and sitting their GCSEs, and Key Stage 3 students will be completing their end-of-year exams.

We kindly ask for your continued support in ensuring students remain focused, prepared, and attend school regularly during this crucial time.

Reminder: No Phone Policy

A reminder of our school phone policy: mobile phones are not permitted in school. If a student needs to bring a phone, it must be a basic (brick) phone only. This must be handed in as soon as the student enters the school and collected at the end of the day.

Smartphones are strictly banned. If a smartphone is found, it will be confiscated for 2 weeks and a sanction will be issued.

Attendance and Punctuality

“Success is where preparation and opportunity meet.”

We would like to highlight the importance of good attendance and punctuality.

Students should arrive at school between 8:00am and 8:25am; any arrival after 8:25am will be marked as late. If your child is unable to attend, please inform the school before 8:00am so the absence can be authorised.

As we enter the summer term, it is especially important that students attend regularly and arrive on time, as this is a key period for exams, assessments, and final progress before the end of the academic year. Consistent attendance will ensure students do not miss vital learning and are fully prepared to achieve their best.

Uniform Reminder

This week, uniform checks were carried out and students were reminded of the expectations regarding correct footwear and adherence to the abaya policy. This includes wearing the correct abaya, approved school shoes (no trainers), and ensuring no shawls or hoodies are worn over the abaya. Only the school cardigan is permitted indoors as an outer layer.

A further uniform check will take place next week. Students who continue to not meet expectations will receive sanctions, and repeated breaches may result in items being confiscated.

Your Child’s Public Social Media – What Parents Need to Know

We would like to highlight the importance of monitoring your child’s phone and internet use at home. In particular, please be aware of what your child is accessing online, including social media activity and any content they may be posting on public accounts.

Posting on public social media accounts can carry significant risks. Once something is shared online, it can be copied, shared, or saved permanently, even if it is later deleted. This can impact a young person’s reputation, safety, future opportunities, and wellbeing. It also increases exposure to unknown individuals and inappropriate contact.

We strongly encourage parents to regularly check privacy settings, be aware of who their child is interacting with online, and have ongoing conversations about responsible digital behaviour and the long-term consequences of what is shared online.

Parents Wellbeing Workshop

We are pleased to invite you to a 4-week Wellbeing Workshop led by our in-house counsellor, focusing on mental health, positive habits, and coping strategies.

The sessions will run weekly from 09:00am to 10:15am, starting Tuesday 28th April 2026. Parents who attend all four sessions will receive a certificate of attendance.

Weekly Breakdown:

·        Week 1 (28.04.2026): Mental Hygiene & Healthy Sleep Routine

·        Week 4 (19.05.2026): Spirituality & Building a Support Network

End of Another Term!

As we come to the end of a very busy and rewarding term, we would like to reflect on the many memorable experiences our students have enjoyed. This term has been filled with a range of exciting events and meaningful opportunities, alongside the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan.

Students took part in a special Spiritual Day, an Iftar gathering, and marked World Hijab Day, all of which encouraged reflection, unity, and a deeper sense of community. We also recognised Safer Internet Day, promoting important conversations around staying safe online.

Our Year 10 students gained valuable real-world insight during their work experience placements, while Year 7 enjoyed an exciting and memorable trip to the London Dungeons. In addition, wellbeing workshops were delivered to support students’ personal development and mental health.

Attendance and Punctuality

“Success starts with showing up, ready to learn and willing to improve.”

We would like to emphasise the importance of maintaining strong attendance and punctuality.

Students should arrive between 8:00am and 8:25am. Any arrival after 8:25am will be recorded as late. If your child is unable to attend, please inform the school before 8:00am so the absence can be authorised.

Parents are kindly reminded to ensure that students arrive at school on time each day, ready to learn. Encouraging a positive attitude is essential, as it helps students stay motivated and open to making changes and improvements in their learning and behaviour. Working together, we can support every student in achieving their best.

A special shoutout to the following students for achieving 100% attendance and punctuality from September until now:

·        Mariam M – 7J

·        Aliza A – 8U

·        Amani A – 10Z

Well done to all of you for your commitment – it’s really impressive!

Uniform Reminder

This week, our focus is on correct footwear and adherence to the abaya policy. We have noticed a rise in uniform passes being issued due to students not wearing the correct abaya, as well as an increase in trainers being worn in school. Please ensure that students wear only approved school shoes and the correct abaya at all times.

With the change in weather, students should also dress appropriately with layers that can be easily put on or removed throughout the day, while still meeting school uniform expectations.

A reminder that no shawls or hoodies are permitted over the abaya. While inside the school building, students may only wear the school cardigan as their outer layer.

Students who arrive wearing incorrect footwear or abayas will be asked to correct it immediately. Repeated breaches may result in items being confiscated. We appreciate your support in ensuring all students adhere to the school uniform policy.

Ramadan Goody Bags

We would like to give a huge Jazakumullahu Khayran to everyone involved in preparing the Ramadan goody bags for our students. The thoughtful selection of treats and items was greatly appreciated and brought smiles to many faces.

·        Sunnamusk

·        Al-Manar

·        Al-Baraka

·        Al-Buraq Perfume

·        Life with Allah

These goody bags were a lovely way to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan, and your generosity helped make this time even more special for our students.

Madani Iftar Gathering Success

On Wednesday, 11th March 2026, our Iftar gathering was a truly beautiful and memorable event. Students came together to break their fast in the company of friends and classmates, creating a warm and special atmosphere of community and reflection.

The evening featured inspiring Qur’an recitations, heartfelt speeches, melodious nasheeds, and salawat, along with an engaging roleplay that reflected the spirit of Ramadan. Students broke their fast with a lovely dua, fostering a moment of gratitude and mindfulness.

The meal that followed was plentiful and varied: fruit platters to start, burgers and noodles for the main course, and samosas and kebabs as tasty starters. The gathering concluded with baklava and cake, adding a sweet touch to the celebration.

A huge Jazakumullahu Khayran to the following for their generous donations, which helped make the event so successful:

·        Karim Catering

·        Tayyabs

·        Savera Bakery

·        The Baklava Company

·        Amigos Burgers & Shakes

·        Smokin Wok

·        All Season Foods

Year 11 last day

A reminder that Year 11 students’ last day will be on Tuesday, 2nd April 2026. Following this, they will begin study leave. During this period, some students will be scheduled for designated support and intervention sessions.

Parents, please keep an eye out for information about these sessions so your child can attend as required. We pray that Allah makes this a beneficial and productive time for all students.

If students have any questions or need any additional help, they are more than welcome to come in and speak to their teachers.

Welcome back & Ramadan Kareem!

Welcome back to school after the half-term break! We hope all our families had a restful and beneficial time.

This is a short but important term, and we are especially grateful to have a Ramadan holiday within it, allowing our students and families time to focus on worship and reflection during this blessed month.

Ramadan Kareem to all our families! May Allah grant us sincerity in our fasting, accept our prayers and du’as, forgive our shortcomings, and fill our homes with peace, mercy and barakah. May He grant our children success in both their deen and dunya and make this month a means of drawing closer to Him. Ameen.

We look forward to a productive and rewarding term ahead, inshaAllah.

Attendance and Punctuality

“Being on time is a sign of responsibility and respect.”

We would like to emphasise the importance of maintaining strong attendance and punctuality.

Students should arrive between 8:00am and 8:25am. Any arrival after 8:25am will be recorded as late. If your child is unable to attend, please inform the school before 8:00am so the absence can be authorised.

Maintaining consistent daily routines remains essential. Ensuring your child gets enough sleep, eats well, and practises good hygiene—such as regular hand-washing—supports their wellbeing and readiness to learn. Students with mild cold symptoms who are otherwise well are expected to attend school.

Well done to 9S for the highest attendance this week!

Uniform Reminder

We would like to commend all students who consistently meet our uniform expectations, contributing to a smart, unified and respectful school environment.

With the change in weather, students must ensure they are dressed appropriately and wear suitable layers that can be easily put on or removed throughout the day. Please ensure all items remain in line with school uniform expectations.

A reminder that no shawls or hoodies are permitted over the abaya. While inside the school building, students may only wear the school cardigan as their outer layer.

Students who arrive in non-uniform items will be asked to remove them. Repeated breaches may result in items being confiscated.

Madani Iftar Gathering

The countdown is on for our Madani Iftar Gathering taking place on Wednesday 11th March 2026. Doors will open at 4:00pm, and the programme will conclude at 7:00pm.

As ticket sales are now closed, this week students will be selecting their meal choices for the evening, inshaAllah.

Please note that all students must leave the premises promptly at 7:00pm, as there will be no staff available to supervise beyond this time.

A reminder regarding the dress code for the event: students are required to wear an abaya and ensure their hijab is wrapped securely around the head in a modest manner. Students who do not meet the requirements will be sent home.

Spiritual Day

Alhamdulillah, our Spiritual Day took place on Wednesday 12th February 2026 and was a great success. The event offered a range of engaging and interactive activities to enrich students’ understanding and experience of Ramadan.

Students enjoyed year-group specific sessions, including cookie and cake decorating (Year 7), cake pops and chocolate-covered dates (Year 8), bookmark painting (Year 9), and tasbeeh making with charity box creation (Year 11). Assemblies and student-led presentations were included this year, alongside a hands-on Sunnah foods spread and a Ramadan checklist session delivered by our Alimiyyah students.

The day ran smoothly thanks to careful planning, thorough preparation of resources, and thoughtful scheduling of activities and assemblies to ensure engagement without long periods of sitting.

Alhamdulillah, the Spiritual Day provided students with both meaningful learning and enjoyable, practical experiences, making it a memorable start to the Ramadan season.

Safer Internet Day

Alhamdulillah, we marked Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 10th February 2026, focusing on the theme “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.” Students spent a couple of hours taking part in activities and discussions that highlighted the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in everyday technology and the importance of using it safely and responsibly online.

The sessions encouraged students to make safe choices with smart technology, understand how AI appears in apps and online tools, and think critically about what they see and interact with on the internet.

It was a valuable opportunity to strengthen digital awareness and promote responsible online behaviour across our school community.

Parents Coffee Morning: Young Carers

Alhamdulillah, we had a very good turnout at last month’s Coffee Morning!

We were joined by the Renaissance Foundation who spoke about young carers — children who look after a parent or family member with a disability, long-term physical or mental illness, or substance misuse. For some, this responsibility can be significant, such as being solely responsible for meals at home.

The Foundation offers drop-in sessions, wellbeing support, homework space, activities, trips, and support for young people with long-term health conditions.

We also had a reminder from our Behaviour Officer on:

·        Punctuality – 5 minutes late each day adds up to 3 days lost learning over the year.

·        Uniform – promoting modesty and unity.

·        No phone policy – protecting focus and learning time.

Ramadan Timetable

A gentle reminder that during Ramadan our school timings are:

·        Start time: 8:15am

·        End time: 1:15pm (Monday–Thursday)

·        Fridays: 12:00pm

Please note, there are no staff on site after these times, so students must be collected promptly.

As we move through the rainy season, we would like to remind families of the importance of strong attendance and punctuality. Students should arrive at school between 8:00 am and 8:25 am; arrival after 8:25 am will be recorded as late. If your child is absent, please inform the school before 8:00 am to ensure the absence is authorised.

Supporting good daily routines—such as adequate sleep, a balanced diet, and regular hand-washing—remains essential during this season. Students with mild cold symptoms who are otherwise well should continue to attend school.

Attendance: 93%

Punctuality: 5%

Uniform Reminder

We would like to commend all students who consistently meet our uniform expectations, as this contributes to a smart, unified, and respectful school environment.

During the rainy season, it is especially important that students are dressed appropriately to stay comfortable and healthy. Sturdy, waterproof footwear is strongly recommended, as wet shoes can be uncomfortable and increase the risk of illness. Students should continue to wear their school cardigan in line with school uniform requirements.

Students who arrive in non-uniform items will be asked to remove them. Repeated uniform breaches may result in items being confiscated.

Year 10 Work Experience

Well done to our students who are now halfway through their work experience placements. We hope they continue to be punctual, committed, and work to the best of their ability. Students are expected to complete all tasks set by both their placement supervisors and their teachers. If a student is absent for any reason, parents/carers must inform the school as soon as possible. Teachers will also be carrying out visits to some placements during this period.

We encourage parents to remind their children of the importance of punctuality, preparation, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout their work experience.

World Hijab Day

World Hijab Day was marked with a meaningful and inspiring assembly that celebrated identity, faith, and confidence. Students showcased their creativity through a play, a presentation, poetry readings, and thoughtful written reflections on what hijab means to them personally.

To mark the occasion, students were also able to come in wearing different coloured hijabs, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Teachers spoke about the purpose and importance of hijab in Islam, while our guest speaker shared powerful insights on overcoming challenges and building resilience when facing difficulties related to wearing hijab.

The event was very successful and uplifting, with a special mention to classes 9U and 8S, who went above and beyond in the effort, creativity, and depth of their presentations.

Year 10 Work Experience

Year 10 students will be taking part in work experience from Monday 2nd February to Friday 13th February. This is an exciting opportunity for students to gain valuable workplace skills, explore potential career paths, and learn how to navigate real-world environments with confidence.

During this time, students are representing both the school and Islam, and are expected to reflect our values in every aspect of their conduct. They should dress appropriately, including wearing the hijab, and demonstrate politeness, respect, honesty, and professionalism when interacting with colleagues, clients, and members of the public. This is a chance for students to showcase the principles of Islam through their actions, by being kind, responsible, and considerate in all situations.

We encourage parents to remind their children of the importance of punctuality, preparation, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout their work experience.

Wellbeing Workshops

Over the past couple of weeks, multiple wellbeing workshops have taken place across the school. Year 11 students recently participated in two separate sessions:

Exam Stress Workshop: Students explored practical strategies to manage the pressures of exams, including time management, effective revision techniques, and ways to stay calm and focused during assessments.

Mental Hygiene Workshop: This session focused on maintaining a healthy mindset, building resilience, and developing habits that support overall mental wellbeing, such as self-care routines, mindfulness, and balancing schoolwork with personal time.

Students engaged actively in discussions and activities, reflecting on their own experiences and learning strategies they can apply in their daily lives. These workshops provided valuable tools to help students feel more prepared, confident, and resilient as they approach exams and other challenges.

Year 7 to London Dungeons

On 22nd January 2026, Year 7 students visited the London Dungeons as part of their English curriculum. This immersive trip brought the darker streets of historic London to life, helping students connect with the themes and atmosphere explored in Frankenstein.

Students explored dramatic historical settings, witnessed powerful storytelling, and experienced suspense and tension that reflect key ideas in the novel, such as fear, responsibility, and the consequences of scientific ambition. The trip highlighted how authors use descriptive language, atmosphere, and narrative techniques to engage readers — skills that will support students in their own writing and reading comprehension.

The visit was both educational and exciting, offering students a memorable way to understand the social context, gothic elements, and vivid storytelling associated with Frankenstein and its era.

·        Fundraising: Year 7 students have begun planning their very own fundraiser, putting their creativity and teamwork into action.

·        Gardening Project: A new gardening project has started! The councillors are currently researching which plants to grow, considering whether to focus on flowers, herbs, or vegetables.

When the Prophet Muhammad SAW would bid farewell, he would say:

-Tirmidhi

Today’s broadcast is a special and significant one for our school community, as we come together to honour our head teacher, Ms Sumayya, who is leaving us today. This moment gives us the opportunity to recognise and reflect on her leadership, dedication, and commitment to the values of our school. Throughout her time with us, Ms Sumayya has played a vital role in guiding our community, supporting staff and students, and shaping the school we are proud to be part of today.

“Your sincerity, patience, and unwavering commitment have shaped countless lives and strengthened the spirit of our school community. You gave far more than time; you gave care, wisdom, and compassion, always serving with humility and excellence.

May Allah reward you for every effort, grant you success in the next chapter, and fill your future with barakah and peace. Aameen ya Rabbal aalameen.”

Sheikh Shaykh Ml. Muhammad Saleem Nawab

Associate Principal

“Throughout my time working with her, she has always supported and encouraged me. She played an important role in helping me develop, grow, and recognise my own progression.

While she encouraged every student to discover their true potential, she also helped teachers grow and find theirs. Her relentless energy, hard work, and passion will never be forgotten.”

Ust Nasima Sultana

“Other heads I have worked for were always in their office and were quite unapproachable. With Ms Sumayya however, she’s the most approachable, friendly, smiley and humble head teacher I have ever worked for- not that she doesn’t get cross, she does but for valid reasons! So approachable I don’t even think twice before going to ask her for advice or help. If a visitor came to Madani I don’t think they would be able to tell the difference between who the teachers were to the head teacher mashaAllah.”

“You always found a solution for everything, made things feel easier, and supported me in ways I deeply appreciate. Thank you for your patience, your care, and the comfort you always brought.”

“Throughout my time at Madani, Sumayya has always supported me and my department, and for that I am truly grateful. Thank you, Sumayya, for the last five years. I pray Allah keeps you always happy and accepts all your duas. Ameen.”

“Miss Sumaya is one of those head teachers who makes work feel lighter just by being around. She is kind, caring, humble, and incredibly understanding, always listening without judgment and offering support when it’s needed most. Her funny stories and warm personality brighten even the busiest days, and she has a special way of easing the pressure and helping us feel more confident and supported. We are truly grateful to have such a positive, inspiring, and approachable head teacher.”

Teachers at Madani

“A huge Jazak Allah to Ms Sumayya for everything she has done for all of us over the past 15 years she has been at Madani. From the funday to enterprise days to everything in between, Miss Sumaya has truly been the best head teacher we could ask for. Your dedication, resilience, and humor have shaped Madani into what it is today, and it won’t be the same without you. Although we are sad to see you leave, we are thankful for the legacy you leave behind, and we pray that Allah rewards all your efforts. Miss Sumaya, you will truly be missed, and we hope that wherever you go next, you remember Madani fondly and Insha’Allah, you find no one better than us. Ameen.”

Head Girl

Message from Ms Sumayya

Today is a moment of reflection, gratitude, and confidence in the future.

We mark the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another, as I step aside from the role of Head of Education and pass the responsibility to someone who embodies dedication, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to this school — Ustadah Saffiyah.

For 14 years, Ustadah Saffiyah has stood firmly on the school side, not merely as a member of staff, but as a pillar of strength and continuity. Her journey here has been one of consistency, growth, and quiet excellence. She has witnessed the school evolve, and more importantly, she has been instrumental in shaping that evolution.

Working closely with me as my right-hand person, Ustadah Saffiyah has demonstrated what true partnership and leadership look like. She has been deeply involved in the strategic growth of the school, contributing thoughtfully to improvements that have strengthened both our academic standards and our ethos. Many of the systems, practices, and successes we benefit from today carry her fingerprints — often unseen, but always impactful.

Beyond the school side, Ustadah Saffiyah is also a senior Ustadah on the Aalimiyah side, a Head of Department, and a role model for staff and students alike. Her ability to balance traditional scholarship with modern educational leadership is rare, and it is one of her greatest strengths.

Her work has not gone unnoticed. Being rated Outstanding by Ofsted is not merely a professional accolade — it is a reflection of her integrity, her high standards, and her tireless commitment to excellence. It speaks to her ability to lead with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

What makes Ustadah Saffiyah especially deserving of this role is not only her experience, but her character. She leads with humility, listens with sincerity, and acts with purpose. She understands this school — its values, its challenges, and its potential — because she has grown alongside it.

As I step down, I do so with complete trust and peace of mind, knowing that the role of Head of Education is being entrusted to someone who is more than capable, deeply invested, and truly deserving.

Ustadah Saffiyah, this school is stronger because of you, and its future is secure in your hands. May Allah grant you wisdom, strength, and continued success as you lead the next chapter of this journey.

Surah Ankabut, 69

Farewell Ms Sumayya!

Today, we would like to share a special message about our Deputy Head Teacher, Ms Sumayya. As many of you know, next week will be her final week with us. Throughout her 15 years here, she has supported our school with dedication, kindness, and a genuine commitment to helping every student and member of staff succeed.

Her encouragement, her leadership, and the positivity she brings to our school have made a lasting impact on us all. Although we will miss her dearly, we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done.

As she prepares to move on to the next chapter of her journey, we want to wish her every success and happiness for the future.

From all of us at Madani Girls’ School, Jazakumullahu Khayran, Ms Sumayya — and we hope your last week with us is filled with appreciation and warm memories!

End of Autumn Term 2

As we finish the term, well done to all students, and thank you to our teachers and parents for your hard work, support, and dedication to the school community.

Year 11 have completed their mock exams with focus and commitment, while Year 9 enjoyed a memorable trip to HMS President. Students also participated in STEM and art competitions, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

The school council has been busy developing new clubs, organising fundraising, and improving the library and school facilities. Your involvement and encouragement make these projects possible.

We also remind families to support students with uniform, punctuality, and staying healthy over the winter months.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back bright and early on Tuesday, 6th January 2026 for the Spring Term!

Attendance and Punctuality

“Time is a blessing — using it well is an act of gratitude.”

As we are now in the colder months, we’d like to remind all families about the importance of good attendance and punctuality. Students should arrive between 8:00 AM and 8:25 AM; anyone arriving after 8:25 AM will be marked as late. If your child is going to be absent, please contact the school before 8:00 AM so the absence is not recorded as unauthorised.

To help reduce illness and avoid unnecessary absences, please ensure students are dressed warmly with waterproof coats, hats, and gloves. Encourage plenty of sleep, a balanced diet, and regular hand-washing. If your child has mild cold symptoms but is otherwise well, they should still attend school.

Attendance: 95%

Punctuality: 3%

Uniform Reminder

Well done to all students who consistently follow our uniform policy — your effort helps create a smart, unified, and respectful school environment.

As the weather becomes colder, please ensure your child dresses appropriately while still adhering to the school uniform rules. Only the dark green school cardigan with the embroidered emblem is allowed, and shawls or open abayas are not permitted. During winter, students may wear black or navy mid-length coats and plain, flat black boots. Under their abaya, students must wear a plain black top and black trousers — pyjamas are not acceptable.

Students wearing non-uniform items will be asked to remove them, and repeated issues may result in items being confiscated.

Upcoming Coffee Morning: 15.12.2025

We warmly invite all parents and carers to our coffee morning on Monday 15th December 2025, from 9:30am to 11:00am, for sisters only. This session will focus on supporting your child in Maths, including tips and strategies to help them succeed at home, and on understanding the school’s behaviour expectations to ensure a positive learning environment for all students.

It will be a great opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and connect with staff and other parents, while enjoying a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you there!

School Council: This Week

This week, the school council discussed clubs, fundraising, the library, and bathrooms.

·        Clubs: PE, Crochet, and Arabic clubs are being organised, and students are being encouraged to sign up.

·        Fundraising: Preparations for the Year 9 bake sale on 8th December are underway.

·        Library: Creative ideas for bookshelf labels to engage students are in progress.

·        Bathrooms: A cleaning log has been created and a new tissue dispenser arranged.

The council will continue working on promoting clubs, supporting fundraising, updating the library, and maintaining school facilities.

Art Competition: Progress

We are delighted to share the progress of our students in the ongoing art competition.

Round 1 focused on pencil work, where all participating students showcased their creativity, precision, and attention to detail. Those who were successful in the first round went on to Round 2, which was a Pen-Only Drawing Task.

In this second round, students were required to draw using only a pen, with no option to erase. This allowed us to observe how confidently they worked, adapted to mistakes, and controlled pen pressure to create different lines, textures, and decorative patterns. The task highlighted each student’s creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical drawing ability.

We are very proud of all our students for their effort, skill, and dedication throughout the competition.

Year 10s STEM Trip to Imperial College

On Wednesday 10th December 2025, 8 of our year 10 students were invited to attend an exciting STEM competition event — a full-day, intellectually engaging challenge hosted on campus at Imperial College London.

During the day, students took part in a variety of hands-on STEM challenges, designed to test their creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in real-world scenarios. They worked collaboratively in teams, developing strategies, sharing ideas, and learning to think like scientists and engineers.

In addition to the competition, students had the chance to explore the university campus, gain insight into university-level STEM facilities, and experience what it’s like to be in a higher education environment. School Council: This Week

Over the past two weeks, the School Council has been reviewing progress on student-led projects across clubs, fundraising, the library, and school facilities. Students showed strong interest in new clubs, particularly the Crochet Club, so two groups will be created. An Arabic Club is also being developed, and Football and Swimming clubs have been suggested and are being explored with staff. Posters, sign-up links, and finalised times for the new clubs will be shared with students soon.

During this period, the Bake Sale was successfully held, led by Year 8 students, as part of ongoing fundraising for items such as mirrors and clocks. Library improvements continue, with half of the main corridor bookshelf reorganised and plans underway for a reading corner and additional English classroom shelves. Bathroom improvements are also in progress, including sourcing a new tissue dispenser and preparing updated cleaning logs.

Year 9 at HMS President

On Tuesday, 18th November, a selected group of 13 Year 9 students had the exciting opportunity to visit HMS President, located near Tower Bridge. The day was packed with team-building activities where students worked alongside their peers from other schools, collaborating to tackle challenges and enhance their communication and problem-solving skills.

A special mention goes to Khadijah A, who demonstrated outstanding initiative throughout the day. She took the lead on tasks independently, ensuring everything was completed efficiently and with great attention to detail. Her ability to get the work done on her own was truly impressive.

The students also enjoyed a well-earned lunch with a stunning view of the River Thames, making for a memorable and scenic break during their action-packed day. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to build new connections, challenge themselves, and develop valuable skills in a unique setting.

Attendance and Punctuality

The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.

As we move into the colder months, we’d like to remind all families of the importance of good attendance and punctuality. Students should arrive at school between 8:00 AM and 8:25 AM. Any arrivals after 8:25 AM will be marked as late.

With winter approaching, it’s important that students take the right precautions to stay healthy and avoid unnecessary absences. Here are a few tips:

·        Dress in layers to stay warm during colder mornings.

·        Wear a waterproof coat, hat, and gloves to protect against cold and damp weather.

·        Boost your immune system with plenty of sleep, a balanced diet, and foods rich in vitamins C and D.

·        Encourage frequent handwashing to reduce the spread of seasonal colds and flu.

·        If your child has mild cold symptoms but is otherwise well, they should still attend school.

A huge well done to all the students who are arriving on time and attending every day — your commitment does not go unnoticed!

Attendance: 94.2%

Punctuality: 4.4%

We would like to take a moment to thank all students who continue to follow our uniform policy — your effort helps us maintain a smart, unified, and respectful school environment.

As the weather gets colder, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the winter months while still adhering to our school uniform policy.

·        During winter, students may wear black or navy mid-length coats, but waist-length jackets, leather jackets, or denim jackets are not allowed.

7Js Trip to the Science Museum

On 14th October, 7J had an exciting trip to the Science Museum, where they explored the interactive exhibits and had a blast in the Wonderlab!

Students got hands-on with experiments, discovered the science behind every day phenomena, and learned in the most fun way possible. From creating chemical reactions to exploring the physics of motion, curiosity was sparked at every turn!

Cool Facts from the Trip:

·        Did you know the human brain generates about 20 watts of electrical power while awake? That’s enough to power a small light bulb!

·        Water can boil and freeze at the same time under the right conditions — it’s called the “triple point.”

·        The Wonderlab lets students experiment with forces and motion — like seeing how friction slows down moving objects in real time.

It was a day full of discovery, laughter, and learning outside the classroom. A big well done to 7J for their curiosity and enthusiasm!

Year 11 at Kew Gardens!

On 16th October 2025, Year 11 visited Kew Gardens for an educational and hands-on experience in the heart of one of the world’s most famous botanical gardens.

As part of their visit, students took part in a workshop where they practiced quadrat sampling, a key method in ecological studies and one of the compulsory experiments for GCSE Biology. Using this technique, students measured and recorded the distribution of plants in different areas, gaining practical skills and a deeper understanding of how scientists study ecosystems.

The day combined learning, exploration, and teamwork, giving students a memorable and valuable experience outside the classroom. Well done to Year 11 for their enthusiasm and engagement!

Mental Health Day

On 24th October 2025, our school celebrated Mental Health Day, a little later than usual to accommodate Year 11 mocks. This special day was dedicated to raising awareness of mental wellbeing and reminding students of the importance of taking time for themselves, especially during busy or stressful periods.

Mental health is just as important as physical health — taking moments to relax, reflect, and recharge helps students manage stress, build resilience, and maintain focus in their studies and daily lives. By pausing from the usual hustle, students can nurture their emotional wellbeing, supporting happier, healthier, and more balanced lives.

Students enjoyed a variety of activities designed to help them unwind and enjoy mindful moments, from calligraphy and reading, to football, bookmark making, peaceful walks, crocheting, cake decorating, board games, and colouring in. To complement these activities, each student received a care package containing a chocolate straw and a biscuit, offering a small but meaningful escape from life’s busy noise.

Mental Health Day was a wonderful opportunity for students to pause, explore creative outlets, connect with friends, and focus on self-care, reinforcing that taking care of our mental wellbeing is something we should all prioritise every day.

The Madani Elections!

On 15th and 16th October 2025, the Madani School Council elections took place, giving students the opportunity to vote for their class representatives. The School Council consists of one member from each class in Year 7 to Year 9, who serve as the voice of their peers and play an important role in shaping school life.

This year, the elected representatives are: Muhsenah (9U), Sabiriin (9S), Azma (8S), Jannatul (8U), Afreen (7J), and Takiyah (7M).

The council works closely with staff to share ideas, represent student interests, and contribute to decisions about school events, activities, and initiatives. It also helps students develop leadership skills, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility within the school community.

Congratulations to all the elected students — we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their new roles on the School Council!

School Prefects!

We are delighted to announce the newly selected Madani School Prefects. Students interested in taking on this important role first expressed their interest by filling out a form, after which teachers carefully considered each candidate and selected those they felt were most suitable for the responsibilities of a prefect.

This year’s prefects are: Maryam (Year 7), Sabiha (Year 8), Rahnoma (Year 9), Aleena (Year 10), and Tayiba (Year 11).

Prefects play a vital role in our school community. They help maintain a positive and respectful environment, support staff, and serve as role models for their peers. Through this role, students also have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Congratulations to all students chosen as prefects — we look forward to seeing your positive impact across the school!

Coffee Morning: Online Safety

Jazakumullahu Khairan to all the parents who attended our Coffee Morning on 1st October 2025. It was a valuable and informative session where we discussed key ways to help keep our children safe online.

·        We explored Microsoft Family, a free and useful tool for parents that allows you to:

o   Set screen time limits

o   Monitor app and game usage

o   Block inappropriate websites and content

o   Receive weekly activity reports to stay informed

·        We also emphasised the importance of staying involved in your child’s digital life:

o   Check which apps your child is using regularly. Some devices allow users to hide apps, so it’s important to look carefully.

o   Know who your child is talking to online. Make sure they are not communicating with strangers.

o   Monitor the language and content of their conversations. Encourage respectful and appropriate communication at all times.

As we begin the new term, we’d like to remind everyone of the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene.

We encourage students to purchase extra abayas so they can wash them after fewer wears, helping to maintain cleanliness. Students should also change their clothing worn underneath after a maximum of two wears and ensure they change their socks daily. Regular showers, the use of deodorant, trimming hair, and cutting nails are all essential for personal care. PE kits should be removed immediately after PE lessons, replaced with the school uniform, and washed after every PE lesson.

The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Cleanliness is half of faith.” (Sahih Muslim). By following these simple practices, we can ensure our students remain healthy and confident throughout the summer months.
