We’re at the end of the year!
The 2024–2025 year at Madani Girls’ School was full of learning, faith, and community spirit, creating a positive environment for students to grow.
The school emphasized punctuality and a strict uniform policy, expecting students to arrive by 8:25 AM and adhere to the dress code. Communication between school and parents was maintained through weekly diary checks.
Students participated in educational trips to museums and landmarks, enhancing their classroom learning. Spiritual Days around Ramadan included engaging faith-based activities to deepen students’ religious understanding.
The Madani Funday was a major highlight, raising nearly £8,000 with the help of student volunteers, staff, and parent support. Additionally, workshops for parents on stress management reflected the school’s commitment to student well-being.
Overall, the year successfully balanced academic progress, spiritual growth, and community involvement, supported by clear policies and active parent engagement.

Punctuality is the first step towards success.
As we return to school, please remember that students should arrive between 8:00 AM and 8:25 AM each morning. Any arrivals after 8:25 AM will be marked as late. If your child is absent, please inform the school before 8:00 AM on the day of absence. Please also note that absences reported after the midday AM register will be marked as unauthorised.

As you are aware, our End-of-Year Trip to Adventure Island is scheduled for 24th July 2025. Students should arrive at school by 7:30 AM for a prompt departure. We aim to return by 5:00 PM, although this will depend on traffic conditions.
Important Reminder: Please note that due to Adventure Island’s policy, if your daughter is absent or disqualified from the trip due to misbehaviour, we will unfortunately be unable to issue a refund.

Head Girl 2025-26
We are delighted to announce that Khadijah C from 10H has been appointed as the new Head Girl for the upcoming academic year. Khadijah has shown exceptional dedication, leadership, and commitment to the school community. We are confident she will be an inspiring role model and representative for all our students.

Nature Therapy at the Olympic Park
On Tuesday, 16th July, a group of 10 students took part in a special Nature Therapy session at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London. Famous for hosting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the park is now a vibrant green space with beautiful gardens, waterways, and public art.
During the visit, students explored parts of the park’s scenic walking trails before taking part in a calming painting activity, using the natural surroundings as inspiration. It was a chance to slow down, reflect, and express creativity in a peaceful outdoor setting.
It was wonderful to see our students so engaged, thoughtful, and creative throughout the day.

Year 7 to Tower Bridge
On Wednesday, 17th July, students from class 7J visited the iconic Tower Bridge as part of their Computer Science studies.
During the visit, students took a guided tour of Tower Bridge, learning about its fascinating history and the impressive engineering that allows the bridge to lift for passing ships. They also took part in a hands-on workshop, where they used Scratch to program and simulate the mechanics of how the bridge opens and closes.
It was a fantastic opportunity to see the link between coding and real-world engineering, and to explore one of London’s most famous landmarks.

Quran Competition Finals!
The school recently held the finals of the Quran competition, showcasing the highest level of student achievement in memorisation, understanding, and presentation. The final round involved three stages: memorising selected Quranic verses, delivering a presentation based on themes from those verses, and answering questions from tafseer packs provided earlier.
Students from various key stages competed with enthusiasm and dedication. Congratulations to the winners, Aabidah from 8S and Yusra from 10Z, who each received £100 vouchers. Commiserations to the runners-up, Tahira from 7J and Nafeesa Jannah from 9S, for their outstanding effort

Parents’ Guide to Teaching Your Teen Online Safety
The internet plays a huge role in teens’ lives today—from chatting with friends and watching videos to gaming and learning. While it offers many benefits, it also exposes young people to risks like inappropriate content, unrealistic images, and contact with strangers. Rather than restricting internet use entirely, parents can help by staying involved and understanding the platforms teens use most, such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Twitter, and online games.
To help teens stay safe, remind them never to share personal information publicly and to keep social media accounts private. Encourage respectful online behavior, warn against meeting online contacts in person, and keep communication open so they feel comfortable sharing concerns. Teaching teens to think critically about what they see online and to report harmful content will help them make safer choices.

Hygiene Reminder During the Summer
As we experience these hot, summery days, we’d like to remind everyone about the importance of maintaining personal hygiene. It’s especially crucial during this season to stay fresh and comfortable.
We encourage students to purchase extra abayas so they can wash them after fewer wears, helping to maintain cleanliness. Additionally, regular showers and the use of deodorant are essential for personal care.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Cleanliness is half of faith.” (Sahih Muslim). By following these simple practices, we can ensure our students remain healthy and confident throughout the summer months.

Madani Funday 2025!
We are thrilled to announce that Madani Funday 2025 was a massive success, raising an incredible £7,982.73 for our school! It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and wonderful memories for all who attended.
The weather was beautiful, with clear skies and sunshine, making it the perfect day for the entire Madani community to come together and enjoy a fun-filled event with family and friends.
A special Jazakumullahu Khayran goes out to all our amazing student volunteers who worked incredibly hard, especially in the heat, to ensure the day ran smoothly. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and teamwork were truly inspiring, and we couldn’t have done it without them. They played a vital role in helping at various stalls, guiding guests, and making sure everyone had an unforgettable time.
We also want to express our gratitude to the parents, staff, and everyone who supported the event, whether through volunteering, donations, or just being there to enjoy the day. Your contributions helped us raise a significant amount that will directly benefit the school and its future initiatives.

Sports Day 2025!
We are thrilled to share that our annual Sports Day was a resounding success! Students were split into their respective houses and competed fiercely to win the coveted winning title. It was a day full of energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The students took part in a variety of exciting events, including: · Badminton · Cricket · Football · Netball · Tug of War · Sprinting & Relay
The competition was intense, but the spirit of friendly rivalry was strong throughout the day. To wrap up the event, students had the opportunity to enjoy some ice cream from the ice cream truck, which provided a refreshing treat after all the hard work and excitement.

8U to Charles Dickens Museum
On Thursday 3rd July 2025, 8U visited the Charles Dickens Museum in London as part of their English curriculum. The museum, located in Dickens’ former home, gave students a unique opportunity to explore the life and legacy of one of Britain’s most celebrated authors.
During the guided tour, students learnt about Dickens’ upbringing, his rise to literary fame, and the social issues he tackled through his writing. The visit helped bring the world of Oliver Twist to life — a novel they are currently studying — by deepening their understanding of Victorian society, poverty, and child welfare, which are central themes in the book. The experience supported their classroom learning in a memorable and meaningful way.

Year 11 Graduation
On 20th June 2025, our Year 11 students gathered for their graduation day, a memorable occasion as they returned to school to enjoy one last day together before embarking on the next chapter of their journeys.
The day was filled with celebrations, laughter, and reflection on the many achievements of the year. Students were recognised with special awards for their hard work, dedication, and contributions throughout their time at school. It was a moment of pride for both the students and the staff as we celebrated all they had accomplished.
To end the day on a high note, the students enjoyed their favourite food – burgers! It was the perfect treat to share with friends and teachers, as they relaxed and reminisced about the memories they’ve made together.
We are incredibly proud of all of our Year 11 students and wish them all the best for their futures. May Allah fill this new chapter with success, happiness, and many more achievements!

Eid Party
On Monday 23rd June 2025, we celebrated Eid with a fun and creative party at school! To mark this special occasion, a painting activity was organised for the students. It was a wonderful way for everyone to come together, express their creativity, and enjoy the festive spirit.
Students spent a couple of hours painting a variety of pictures, while KS4 students worked in groups to complete a large paint-by-numbers set. Throughout the activity, they snacked on treats they brought from home and sipped on their favourite drinks, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
After the creative session, students were treated to a delicious lunch, gifted by the school. The meal consisted of noodles with chicken bites and kebabs, a delightful treat that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
It was a fantastic day of creativity, teamwork, and community spirit, and a perfect way to celebrate Eid together.

Year 10 to Battersea Park
On 24th June 2025, our Year 10 students had the opportunity to visit Battersea Park as part of their PE curriculum. The trip was an exciting way for students to engage in outdoor activities, develop their fitness, and enjoy a day of physical challenges in a beautiful setting.
The students took part in a variety of activities that helped them build teamwork, strength, and endurance while also giving them a chance to relax and enjoy the park’s scenic surroundings. The day was a great opportunity for them to take their learning outside the classroom and connect with the physical aspects of their studies in a fun and engaging way.

Year 10 to Go Ape
On 26th June 2025, our Year 10 students enjoyed an exciting trip to Go Ape as a reward for their excellent behaviour and attendance throughout the year. The trip was a much-needed opportunity for the students to relax and have fun, especially after the recent stress of their mock exams.
The students took part in thrilling tree-top challenges, zip lines, and high ropes courses, all set in a stunning natural environment. It was a fantastic day, full of adventure, teamwork, and unforgettable memories, giving them a well-deserved break after their hard work.
We are so proud of Year 10 for their continued commitment to their studies, and we hope this trip serves as both a reward and a reminder of the importance of balancing work and fun.

Year 7 to Kew Gardens
On 26th June 2025, our Year 7 students had the wonderful opportunity to visit Kew Gardens as part of their English curriculum. The trip was a fantastic experience, allowing students to explore the beautiful gardens and learn about the wide variety of plants featured there, all while tying into the themes of the novel “The Secret Garden”.
During the visit, students had the chance to connect with the book’s themes of nature, growth, and transformation. They observed how the plants and flowers at Kew Gardens mirrored the elements of the story and engaged in discussions about the symbolism of the garden in the novel.
The trip provided not only a chance to learn about different plant species but also an opportunity for students to experience first-hand the healing power of nature, just as the characters in “The Secret Garden” do.

Smartphone-Free Childhood Initiative
We’d like to share an initiative that’s gaining national attention: Smartphone Free Childhood – a parent-led movement promoting a delay in children’s access to smartphones and social media until at least age 16.
The campaign highlights the risks of early social media exposure and provides practical resources for families. These include a downloadable PowerPoint and advice to support conversations about digital boundaries. It also encourages parents to take a voluntary pledge to delay smartphone and social media use, helping build a supportive, healthier environment for all children.

Coffee Morning on Upcoming Buloogh Workshops
Jazakumullahu khayran to all the parents who joined us for this month’s Coffee Morning on Wednesday 7th May. The session focused on the upcoming Buloogh Workshops that Key Stage 3 students will be taking part in.
Parents were given an overview of the content to be covered, including the emotional, physical, and spiritual changes associated with reaching maturity in Islam. The workshop aims to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to navigate this important stage in a manner rooted in Islamic values. We appreciate your continued support in these important conversations.

Year 7 & 8 Trip to Flip Out
On Wednesday 11th June 2025, selected students from Year 7 and Year 8 were rewarded with a fun-filled trip to Flip Out. Chosen by their PE teacher for their effort, enthusiasm, or progress in lessons, students enjoyed an active session filled with trampolining, obstacle courses, and games.
Flip Out, located on Barking Road, is London’s largest indoor trampoline and adventure park. It spans three floors and features trampolines, stunt boxes, climbing walls, a Ninja Warrior course, laser maze, foam pits, indoor caving, and even a 30-foot super slide.
The trip celebrated students’ positive attitude towards physical education and provided a great opportunity to promote fitness, teamwork, and resilience in an exciting environment outside of school. Well done to all those who were selected!

9S to Richmond Park
On 9th June 2025, students from 9S visited Richmond Park as part of their PE curriculum. The trip provided an opportunity to take physical education outside the classroom and enjoy the benefits of outdoor fitness and wellbeing.
Pupils took part in a brisk walk, engaged in team-based activities, and explored the natural landscape of one of London’s most iconic royal parks. The experience helped promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and an appreciation for physical activity in a refreshing outdoor environment.

7M to Holland Park
On Monday 9th June 2025, 7M visited Holland Park as part of their Science curriculum. During the trip, students explored the serene Kyoto Gardens, admired the vibrant flower gardens, and enjoyed some time playing in the adventure playground.
Students also completed a worksheet on the adaptations of animals and described their habitats, linking their observations to classroom learning. Holland Park, home to over 1,000 species of plants and wildlife, provided an ideal setting to study biodiversity and ecosystems first-hand.

Year 7 & 8 on an Eid Workshop
On Monday 2nd June 2025, ten students from Year 7 and Year 8 were selected to attend a special Eid workshop at Norton Rose Fulbright, in central London. The event celebrated the themes of unity, identity, and faith through a series of interactive and reflective activities.
Students listened to a nasheed focused on the message of unity, reflecting how Eid is a day that brings the ummah together. They also explored different styles of Arabic calligraphy, learned to write their names in Arabic, and designed their own Eid-themed bookmarks. Selected students delivered thoughtful speeches on what Eid means to them, sharing personal reflections and heartfelt messages. The session concluded with a guest speaker explaining the story of Eid al-Adha, its significance, and the powerful lesson of sacrifice behind it.
It was a meaningful and creative experience that encouraged students to reflect on their faith and identity while engaging with professionals in an inspiring setting.

Uniform Reminder
As we begin the summer term, we’d like to remind all students to attend school in full uniform each day. This includes the school cardigan and black school shoes.

Year 10 Mock Exams Starting Soon
Year 10 mock exams will begin on 2nd June 2025. These exams are an important opportunity for students to experience formal testing conditions and identify areas where they may need to improve.
The grades students achieve in these mocks will contribute towards their predicted grades next year, which are an important part of college applications. Preparing well for these exams is therefore essential to support future opportunities.
We encourage all Year 10 students to take these mocks seriously and use them as a valuable stepping stone in their academic journey.

Check & Sign Diaries
It’s very important that diaries are checked and signed every week, as they are a key way we communicate important information with students and parents.
Recently, we have noticed that some students have not been consistently writing down their homework in their diaries. Regularly using and checking diaries helps students stay organised and keeps everyone informed.

Online Safety Reminder
Please be cautious about the web browsers your children are using. Browsers such as Brave, Kiwi, DuckDuckGo, and others often lack strong parental controls and may not effectively block inappropriate content or unsafe websites.
These browsers can make it difficult for parents to monitor their children’s online activity and may expose them to greater risks such as harmful content, unsafe sites, or online threats. Additionally, some of these browsers may not receive regular security updates, increasing vulnerabilities.
We strongly encourage families to monitor browser use closely and consider safer, more secure options that provide effective parental controls.

KS3 Gardening Project!
Our KS3 students have been hard at work on their exciting gardening project, demonstrating great enthusiasm and teamwork. Mashallah, they have already made impressive progress by clearing the designated garden area of rubbish and overgrown plants, transforming it into a fresh, inviting space.
With care and dedication, they have planted a variety of flowers and added rich, new soil to nurture their growth. The students are eager to continue developing the garden as a vibrant and peaceful area for everyone to enjoy.
To help support their efforts, we kindly welcome any donations of gardening supplies such as gloves, seeds, soil, spades, or other tools. Every contribution will make a big difference and is greatly appreciated by our young gardeners.

British Science Week
Over the past couple of weeks, students have been actively participating in British Science Week, which this year focuses on the theme of Adaptation.
They’ve been set two exciting tasks: · Independent Task: Grow sunflowers! Each student was provided with a plant pot, soil, and sunflower seeds. They planted their seeds last week, and already, a lucky few have started to see some growth! · Class Task: Students are working together to choose an area of the school they’d like to make more eco-friendly. They’re designing 3D models of their ideas, and we’ve already seen some fantastic creativity. We can’t wait to see the final products!

Hajj Workshop for KS3
Students recently had the unique opportunity to take part in a live simulation of Hajj, bringing this sacred pilgrimage to life right here at school. The experience helped deepen their understanding of the significance of each stage.
Different areas of the school were transformed to represent key parts of Hajj: · One room was made dark with pebbles (actually scrunched-up newspaper) scattered on the floor to closely mimic Muzdalifah, where pilgrims gather after sunset. · A model Kaba was created, allowing students to perform Tawaf by walking around it, just like pilgrims do in Mecca. · Students walked back and forth across the hall to symbolize Sa’ee, the walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah. · To simulate Mina, students slept under tents, experiencing the conditions pilgrims face during the stay. · They pelted symbolic pillars representing the ritual of Ramee al-Jamarat. · They listened attentively to a sermon about Arafah, reflecting on its spiritual importance.
Overall, the workshop was a deeply meaningful and enriching experience. It allowed students to engage actively with the traditions of Hajj, fostering empathy and a greater appreciation for this important religious journey. We look forward to more immersive learning opportunities like this in the future.

London Zoo Trips!
As part of their Qur’an lessons, Year 8 visited London Zoo to reflect on the signs of Allah in the natural world. 8U attended on the 13th of May and 8S on the 19th of May. Students had the chance to observe a wide variety of animals—from majestic lions to tiny insects—and linked these observations to verses in the Qur’an that speak of the diversity and precision of Allah’s creation. The visit supported classroom discussions around concepts such as khalifah (stewardship), the balance in creation, and the importance of recognising and being grateful for the signs around us.

London Aquarium Trip
On the 5th of May, 7M visited the London Aquarium to deepen their understanding of the Qur’an’s references to the ocean and marine life. As they explored the exhibits—ranging from colourful coral reefs to deep-sea creatures—students were encouraged to reflect on verses that mention the sea as one of Allah’s great signs. The experience helped bring their Qur’anic learning to life and offered a deeper appreciation of the complexity, beauty, and purpose found within Allah’s creation.

End of Another Term
As we come to the end of another busy and successful term, we want to thank all our students, parents, and staff for their hard work and dedication. Mashallah, it’s been a time full of learning, growth, and memorable experiences.
Looking ahead, we are entering the final term filled with lots of fun events and trips, but also important exams that students need to revise for. It’s important for everyone to find a good balance between enjoying these activities and staying focused on their studies to finish the year strong.

World Book Day 2025!
On Thursday 24th April, students celebrated World Book Day 2025 through a variety of fun and engaging activities centred around assigned books for each year group: · Year 7: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland · Year 8: Goodnight Mr Tom · Year 9: Life of Pi · Year 10: IT
Students took part in creative tasks including themed display boards, book cover recreations, creative writing with prompts, and a book swap. A public speaking activity allowed students to deliver speeches about their favourite part of the story. The day ended with a whole-school assembly celebrating their work and love for reading.

Parents Coffee Morning
At our recent coffee morning, parents engaged in an insightful session on Deaf Awareness, led by a guest speaker. The session emphasised the importance of inclusive communication and provided an interactive opportunity for parents to learn basic sign language. This hands-on experience aimed to foster better understanding and support for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
In addition, Ustadha Saffiyyah (KS4 History Teacher) shared practical strategies for parents to support their children’s learning:
1. Stay Informed: Regularly review your child’s schoolwork and books to understand what they are learning. 2. Monitor Progress: Keep track of your child’s exam results and assessments to identify areas where they may need additional support. 3. Royal Navy Trip
On 23rd April 2025, 10 selected students from 9S had the exciting opportunity to visit the HMS President, a Royal Navy vessel moored near Tower Bridge. Students enjoyed the iconic view of London from the deck and gained insight into naval tradition.
They spent time designing and painting their own crests, learning how ship crests are historically used to identify vessels and represent their legacy. It was a creative and engaging way to explore maritime heritage.

V&A Trip
On 23rd April 2025, 9U visited the Victoria and Albert Museum to explore the Islamic Art galleries. As part of their Qur’an studies, students viewed Qur’anic manuscripts and historical artefacts, helping them connect more deeply with Islamic heritage and the rich tradition of sacred art.
They also had time to explore the museum’s garden, enjoying a peaceful moment in the beautiful surroundings.

Wembley Stadium Trip
On 24th April, 15 selected students from year 9 visited Wembley Stadium to take part in a special event celebrating Women’s Day. The event highlighted the importance of women’s participation in sports and the recognition of their achievements.
Students had the exciting opportunity to meet Rachel Yankey, former Arsenal and England footballer, and take part in a Q&A session. They also enjoyed a guided tour of Wembley Stadium, gaining insight into the world of professional sport and its inspiring female role models.

On 28th April 2025, 7J visited the SEA LIFE London Aquarium as part of their Qur’an studies. This trip allowed students to observe the diversity of marine life, reflecting on the words of Allah, such as: “And Allah has created from water every living creature…” — Surah An-Nur (24:45)
Through this experience, students deepened their understanding of the natural world and its connection to their faith.

9S to the V&A Museum
On 4th April 2025, 9S visited the Victoria and Albert Museum, where they explored the rich history of the Mughal Empire.
During the trip, students had the opportunity to view beautifully preserved Qur’an scripts, fascinating antiques, and innovative inventions from the Mughal period—many of which have influenced tools and practices still used today.
It was a meaningful and educational experience that brought history to life and deepened their understanding of Islamic heritage and global contributions.

Madani Iftaar Gathering
We’re happy to announce that preparations for the Madani Iftaar Gathering 2025 are well underway! The event will take place as follows: Doors open at 4:00 PM, event starts at 4:30 PM, Iftaar after Maghrib Salah around 6:30 PM, and event ends at 7:30 PM. Please ensure children are collected by 7:30 PM.
Students must wear an Abaya and properly observe Hijab. Phones are allowed for communication, but photos and videos are not permitted. There will be no Tarawih Salah after the event, so prompt pick-up is required.

As we are already in the month of Ramadan, the adjusted timetable is now in effect. We have noticed a rise in the number of students arriving late, and we kindly remind everyone that students should be arriving between 9:15 and 9:25 AM. Any arrival after 9:26 AM will be marked as late.
From next week, we ask that both students and parents make the necessary arrangements to ensure punctuality despite the changes. Being on time is important to ensure students don’t miss valuable learning time and to help maintain a smooth start to the school day.

Alhamdulillah, our first webinar was a great success! We would like to express our sincere Jazakumullahu Khayran to all the parents who joined.

3FF Workshop
On 26th February 2025, students participated in an enlightening workshop delivered by Faith and Belief Forum. The session focused on promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding. Students learned about Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, gaining insights into the beliefs, practices, and values of each faith. This workshop helped foster empathy, respect, and unity within the school community.

Spiritual Day 2025
On 27th February 2025, students took part in Spiritual Day focused on preparing for Ramadan. The day included a variety of hands-on activities such as decorating cookies, making chocolate-covered dates, Eid card making, crafting tasbeehs, and creating bookmarks.
Students also received a Ramadan Guide that not only taught them about the importance of Ramadan, the makrooh, masbooh, and mustahab acts of the month, but also included trackers to help them stay on track with their good deeds, Quran, and Salah throughout this blessed month.
The event featured insightful sessions from Shaikh Saleem Nawab, the Alimiyyah students, and a guest speaker, providing meaningful guidance on how to spiritually prepare for the blessed month of Ramadan.
It was a joyful and enriching day, helping our students connect with the true spirit of Ramadan and encouraging them to use their Ramadan Guide throughout the month to stay engaged and focused on their spiritual growth.

Year 11 to ClueQuest
On Monday, 3rd February 2025, Year 11 students visited ClueQuest as part of a reward trip for their hard work and dedication. This escape room experience challenged students to use their problem-solving, logical thinking, and teamwork skills in a high-pressure environment.
The trip also linked to their Computer Science studies, as they applied algorithmic thinking and code-breaking techniques to solve puzzles and unlock clues. Just like in programming, they had to approach challenges systematically, debug errors, and think creatively to progress.
It was a fantastic way to celebrate their efforts while reinforcing key skills in a fun and engaging setting!

7M to Science Museum
On Monday, 3rd February 2025, Year 7M visited the Science Museum for an engaging and educational experience. Students had the opportunity to take part in a thrilling Rocket Show, where they learned about how rockets leave Earth’s atmosphere.
In addition, they explored the Wonderlab, where they witnessed science in action through hands-on experiments. The rest of the museum provided further opportunities for discovery, sparking their curiosity about the world of science and technology.

Year 7 Trip to London Dungeons
On Thursday, 6th February 2025, Year 7 students visited the London Dungeons for an immersive and educational experience. The trip provided a fascinating recreation of 19th-century London, allowing students to step back in time and witness the dark and eerie history of the era.
This visit also included contextual links to Frankenstein, enriching their understanding of the novel’s historical and social backdrop. Through interactive storytelling and engaging exhibits, students gained a deeper appreciation of both history and literature in a thrilling and memorable way.

On Monday, 10th February 2025, Year 7M visited Tower Bridge for an exciting and educational trip. Students enjoyed a guided tour of the bridge and its historic engine rooms, gaining insight into the engineering and mechanics behind this iconic landmark.

Additionally, they took part in a Scratch coding workshop, directly linking to their current Computer Science studies. Using Scratch, they created their own digital version of Tower Bridge, applying their coding skills in a fun and creative way.

8U to the V&A Museum
On Monday, 10th February 2025, Year 8U students visited the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) for an enriching educational experience. They began by exploring the Islamic Middle East, which houses over 19,000 objects from the Islamic world, ranging from the 7th to the early 20th century.
During their time in the gallery, students completed worksheets that involved sketching artefacts and answering questions, enhancing their understanding of Islamic art and culture. Following this, they explored other exhibits within the museum, broadening their appreciation for various art forms and historical periods.
The visit concluded with a delightful lunch in the museum’s garden, providing a perfect setting for students to relax and reflect on their learnings from the day.

KS3 Workshop about Young Carers
Last week, KS3 students participated in a Young Carers Workshop, delivered by an external speaker from Tower Hamlets Council. The session was designed to raise awareness about the role of young carers and the unique challenges they face.
Students learned about the responsibilities young carers take on, how it can affect their daily lives, and the support available to them. The workshop encouraged empathy and understanding, helping students reflect on how they can offer support and create a more inclusive environment for their peers. It was an insightful and valuable session for all involved.

KS4 Enterprise Day
On Friday, 31st January 2025, Year 9 and 10 students took part in Enterprise Day, an exciting opportunity to develop their teamwork, problem-solving, and business skills.
Students randomly selected a country from a hat and were challenged to plan an event inspired by their chosen nation. They worked collaboratively to design unique event concepts, considering key aspects such as budgeting, marketing, and logistics.
The day concluded with a pitching session, where students presented their event ideas to a panel of judges. Their creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurial thinking were truly impressive, making it a valuable and enjoyable experience for all involved.

Year 9 to City Hall
On Monday, 20th January, and Tuesday, 28th January, our Year 9 students had the exciting opportunity to visit City Hall, where they took part in engaging activities to deepen their understanding of London’s history and governance. They explored the city’s unique role on both national and global stages and learned about the responsibilities of the Greater London Authority (GLA), the Mayor of London, and the London Assembly. Through discussions on contemporary issues, students developed an appreciation for different political viewpoints and the importance of voting. This interactive experience helped bring the policy-making process to life, inspiring them to think critically about the future of London.

Year 9 to Imperial War Museum
On Tuesday, 21st January, our Year 9 students visited the Imperial War Museum, where they took part in a thought-provoking session on the Holocaust. On 27th January, Year 7 students participated in a workshop delivered by our Welfare Officer focused on the theme of friendship. Whole School Workshops on FGM
Last week, all students across the school took part in important workshops focused on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). These sessions were designed to raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of FGM, as well as the legal and cultural implications. The workshops provided students with information on how to recognize the signs of FGM, how to seek support, and how to speak up for the rights and well-being of others. It was an invaluable learning experience aimed at empowering students to be informed, supportive, and advocates for the protection of girls and women’s rights.

Reports Day for KS3
On Friday, 14th February 2025, we will be holding Key Stage 3 Reports Day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Students can book a time with each subject teacher throughout the week. Students in Year 7 and Year 8 will not have school on this day, as parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet with teachers to discuss their child’s progress. Year 9 Bake Sale Success
The school would like to congratulate Year 9 on the success of their recent bake sale and extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the event. Jazakumullahu Khairan to the students for their generosity and enthusiasm, which helped them raise an impressive £320.30 in a short amount of time.
The funds raised will be used to improve Year 9 classrooms and, insha’Allah, purchase much-needed fans to help students stay comfortable during warmer days.

Year 10 & 11 Workshop Delivered by Medical Students
Year 10 and 11 students attended a workshop delivered by medical students from the ISoc at Barts and The London yesterday. The session, held during Lesson 7 in the Hub, was an inspiring and informative experience. The medical students shared insights into their journeys, including the challenges and rewards of pursuing a career in medicine.
Students gained valuable knowledge about the application process, what to expect in medical school, and tips on how to prepare for a career in healthcare. The interactive Q&A session allowed students to ask questions and receive practical advice. We are proud to provide such opportunities to help broaden their horizons and support their aspirations.

Tarbiyya Assemblies
This week’s Tarbiyya assemblies focused on essential Islamic values and practices. Students explored how to incorporate sunnah into their daily routines, emphasizing small but impactful actions such as maintaining good manners, showing kindness, and regular acts of worship.
The assemblies also centred on taqwa—described as an illuminating lamp that guides a believer through life’s challenges. Discussions highlighted how cultivating taqwa can lead to a stronger connection with Allah (SWT). Additionally, students examined the balance between rajaa (hope) and khawf (fear), understanding how both are necessary for spiritual growth and a healthy relationship with Allah.

“It’s Okay Not to Be Okay” Workshop for Year 8
On Wednesday, 16th October 2024, our Year 8 students participated in the “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay” Workshop, a session focused on supporting emotional well-being and encouraging open conversations about mental health. The workshop emphasized the importance of recognising and expressing emotions, understanding that everyone faces challenges, and knowing it’s okay to ask for help. Through interactive activities, students learned practical ways to manage feelings, seek support, and foster a compassionate environment for themselves and others.
We are proud of the thoughtful engagement shown by our students and hope that this workshop has provided them with valuable tools for self-care and empathy.

Body Image Workshop for Year 7 & 8
On Monday, 14th October 2024, our Year 7 and 8 students attended a Body Image Workshop designed to promote positive self-image and healthy attitudes towards body diversity. The workshop encouraged students to reflect on the influences of media and society on body image, helping them to recognise and challenge unrealistic standards. Through open discussions and engaging activities, students explored ways to appreciate their unique qualities and build confidence in themselves and others.
We hope this workshop has empowered our students with tools for self-acceptance and reinforced the importance of valuing individuality.

Mental Health Day
In addition to the activities, students were asked to write down a quote that makes them happy, encouraging them to reflect on positivity and joy. Throughout the day, students also wrote anonymous notes of appreciation to both staff and fellow students, spreading kindness and uplifting the school community.
The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, and we hope they will continue to incorporate some of these calming practices into their daily routines. The day was a valuable reminder of the importance of mental well-being, and we are proud to provide these opportunities for our students to relax, reflect, and support one another. |
Year 11s Trip to Kew Gardens
This week, our Year 11 students enjoyed an exciting trip to Kew Gardens! They engaged in a hands-on experience focused on quadrants, enhancing their understanding of this important concept in a beautiful outdoor setting. The students also participated in a scavenger hunt within the greenhouses, exploring the diverse plant life in a fun and interactive way. Additionally, they had the opportunity to visit the treetop walkway, where they could take in stunning views of the gardens and learn more about the ecosystem. It was a wonderful experience that combined learning with the beauty of nature!

Online Tutors Safe Practice Guidance – London Grid for Learning
Online tutoring has grown rapidly, providing students with easier access to specialized teaching, often from experts around the world. This shift, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has normalized e-learning, with many tutoring sessions now happening via webcam. However, this trend also introduces new risks, as online interactions between tutors and children may expose students to potential vulnerabilities.
To address these concerns, the London Grid for Learning (LGfL) has developed a set of guidelines to ensure the safe use of online tutoring platforms. This guidance helps families take the necessary precautions to protect children during virtual lessons. Parents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this information to safeguard their children when using online tutoring services.
