On 26th June 2025, our Year 7 students visited Kew Gardens as part of their English curriculum. The trip offered a fantastic opportunity to explore the beautiful gardens while connecting their learning to the themes of the novel The Secret Garden.
During the visit, students engaged with the book’s themes of nature, growth, and transformation. They observed how the plants and flowers at Kew Gardens mirrored elements of the story and participated in discussions about the symbolism of the garden in the novel.
The trip provided students with the chance to learn about a wide variety of plant species and experience firsthand the healing power of nature, just as the characters in The Secret Garden do. It was an educational and inspiring day that brought the novel to life in a vivid and memorable way.
