7J Explore the London Aquarium

On 28th April 2025, 7J embarked on an enriching visit to SEA LIFE London Aquarium as part of their Qur’an studies. This excursion provided students with the opportunity to observe the diversity of marine life, reflecting on the words of Allah:

“And Allah has created from water every living creature…”
— Surah An-Nur (24:45)

Discovering Marine Biodiversity

SEA LIFE London Aquarium is home to over 500 species of marine life across 14 themed zones, including the UK’s largest coral reef display. Students encountered a variety of creatures, from the graceful green sea turtles and majestic zebra sharks to the playful gentoo penguins. These encounters allowed students to appreciate the complexity and beauty of the natural world.

Reflecting on Creation

As students observed the diverse marine life, they were reminded of the Qur’anic verse highlighting water as the source of all living creatures. This experience deepened their understanding of the interconnectedness of life and the importance of preserving the natural world.

Educational Insights

The aquarium’s exhibits provided students with insights into marine ecosystems and the vital role of conservation. They learned about the significance of coral reefs, which cover less than 1% of the ocean floor yet support over 25% of marine species. This knowledge underscored the importance of protecting these habitats for future generations.

A Memorable Experience

The visit to SEA LIFE London Aquarium was both educational and inspiring, offering students a tangible connection to the teachings of the Qur’an. It was a day that not only expanded their knowledge of marine life but also reinforced the values of stewardship and gratitude for the natural world.
