On 24th April 2025, 15 selected Year 9 students visited Wembley Stadium to take part in a special event celebrating Women’s Day. The occasion highlighted the importance of women’s participation in sports and celebrated their achievements across the sporting world.
A major highlight of the day was meeting Rachel Yankey, former Arsenal and England footballer, who took part in an engaging Q&A session with the students. Her insights and experiences provided inspiration and a deeper understanding of the dedication and challenges faced by female athletes.
Students also enjoyed a guided tour of Wembley Stadium, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues. The visit offered valuable insight into professional sport and showcased the impact of female role models in inspiring the next generation.
The day was both exciting and educational, leaving students motivated and inspired by the achievements of women in sport.
